Attend the RAD Collaborative’ s Fall 2017 RAD Practice Day—‘Taking the Demonstration Out of RAD—Making RAD a Permanent, Funded Initiative.’ Now that RAD has shown an impressive proof of concept in preserving and improving our nation’s public and affordable housing with existing resources—it’s time to make it a permanent option for housing authorities, private owners and their partners. Join RAD practitioners, new applicants, HUD officials and veteran policy makers to devise recommendations for the new Administration and Congress on continuing to successfully convert public housing and certain multifamily funding to the Section 8 platform.
The Practice Day will focus on three basic challenges in making RAD a permanent, funded initiative: 1) maximizing the efficiency of RAD’s implementation and administration; 2) effectively managing development and transactional costs; and 3) devising realistic sources of additional operating and capital funding for higher needs projects. Participate in discussions, workshops and interactive sessions to devise compelling recommendations in meeting these challenges.
In addition, review what can be done in advancing RAD in an eventual FY 2018 appropriations bill. And have a chance to engage with HUD Recap Office staff and peers on implementation issues and best practices. Plus, join in an end-of-day Networking Reception.
The RAD Practice Day is open to all interested parties, including those considering RAD for their communities. The registration fee is $140 for participants, and is limited to 125 registrants due to space constraints. The registration fee is waived for CLPHA members and federal employees.
