The California Tax Credit Allocation Committee and California Department of Housing and Community Development formed a group of independent organizations to design a methodology and mapping tool in the interest of locating place-based opportunities for multifamily residents. Five regional maps have been created thus far (Capital & Northern Region, San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley Region, Los Angeles Region, and San Diego Region), with four more set for completion in late August. These maps are designed to inform regulations related to siting for 9% new construction large-family LIHTC projects.
TCAC is seeking public comment both on the methodology and the maps themselves.
Comments related to general methodology or to the first five regional maps are due: September 1.
Comments related specifically to the final four regional maps are due September 15.
