The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development recently announced fall 2016 competitive funding round awards. 20 projects received reservations, accounting for over $18 million in Rental Housing Funds, $27.5 million of 9% LIHTCs, and $1.65 million in Partnership Rental Housing Program funds. The record 41 applicants all met threshold criteria, with scores ranging from 163 to the maximum 197 (the average score was 184, or 93% of the total points possible).
Awarded projects represent 1,523 new or preserved family units and 236 units targeted for persons with disabilities or special needs. 14 of the 20 projects are new construction.
