The Section 811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Round I Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) has been updated to reflect an increase in the available contract rent from the 50% Area Median Income Rent to the applicable HUD Fair Market Rent, or a higher-approved rent in accordance with Section 8 requirements.

Section 811 PRA funds under Round I are available for State-financed affordable housing projects serving non-elderly disabled MediCal-eligible persons who are exiting long-term care facilities or have a developmental disability and are and are in need of rental assistance and supportive services to avoid institutionalization. Projects located in Los Angeles County may also use PRA rental assistance available under Round II to serve persons who are experiencing homelessness or who are at-risk of institutionalization due to mental illness.

The Section 811 program is a partnership between the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), the California Department of Health Care Services, (DHCS) the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (TCAC).
