AIA/HUD Secretary’s Awards

The Housing Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), in conjunction with the Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), recognizes excellence in affordable housing architecture, neighborhood design, participatory design, and accessibility. Good design is a cornerstone of thriving homes and communities of all incomes and backgrounds. These awards demonstrate that design matters, and provide examples of important benchmarks in the housing industry.

The deadline for submissions is November 20, 2015 prior to 5:00 pm Eastern. All deadlines are strictly observed.

non-refundable entry fee of $375 for members and $750 for non-members must be paid online.

AIA Housing Awards

Originally established to recognize the best in housing design, the program has grown significantly over the last decade now including an energy reduction element but always and most importantly, the importance of good housing as a necessity of life, a sanctuary for the human spirit, and a valuable national resource.

Please join us this year in submitting your project for the 2016 AIA Housing Awards. The categories are (1) One and Two Family Custom Residences, (2) One and Two Family Production Homes, (3) Multifamily Housing, and (4) Specialized Housing.
