Lisa Pekkala joined the Firm as a partner in the Firm’s Tax Group. She focuses her practice on the tax structuring and negotiation of real estate projects that are eligible for affordable housing tax credits, and represents investors, syndicators and developers in such transactions. She also represents clients with respect to transactions involving historic rehabilitation tax credits, new markets tax credits and renewable energy tax credits, as well as certain state credits such as the Illinois affordable housing tax credit. Lisa also has significant experience in the taxation of partnerships and LLCs. Prior to joining the Firm, Lisa was a partner with Dentons US.
Andrew Massmann joins the Firm as an associate. He represents non-profit and for profit developers, investors, and syndicators who are developing and investing in multi-family affordable housing. Prior to joining the Firm, Andy represented and advised clients in a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposition, development, financing, leasing, and mixed use condominium and master planned community matters.
Lance F. Johnson joins the Firm as an associate. He focuses his practice on affordable housing and community development, including the representation of developers, lenders, and investors involved with projects which utilize low-income housing tax credits, FHA-insured loans, a variety of state and local funding programs. Prior to joining the Firm, Lance was an Assistant General Counsel with the School Law Group of the Chicago Public Schools.
