The White House Council on Strong Cities, Strong Communities (SC2) will hold a conference call on Thursday, July 12 to gather input on how the new SC2 National Resource Network program (SC2 Network) — a critical component of the SC2 initiative — can assist economically distressed communities. HUD plans to make approximately $5 million available for the SC2 Network to help strengthen local communities and spur economic growth. These funds will be awarded to one organization or consortium to manage and administer the SC2 Network. Ultimately, this network will be a single portal for communities to access a wide array of technical experts that provide short-term direct assistance with operational and programmatic capacity issues. In addition, the SC2 Network will aggregate public and private resources to serve a wide range of governments and connect them through a peer-to-peer learning network. Those interested should RSVP for the conference call by Tuesday July 10 to [email protected] with their name, organization, phone number, email address, and subject title “Conference Call RSVP”.
