HUD has published a proposed rule in the May 15 Federal Register that would make conforming changes to the regulations of the Section 8 Tenant-Based Voucher and Section 8 Project-Based Voucher programs. The changes would reflect the self-executing provisions of HERA, and would amend the regulations required to implement statutory provisions of HERA that are not self-implementing. In addition, the proposed rule would make other changes for the purposes of updating certain regulations to reflect current practices. HUD is accepting public comments on the clarity and comprehensibility of the language proposed. Comments are due by July 16.
