HUD recently issued Notice PIH 12-20 which retracts a former notice, PIH Notice 12-19 titled “Implementation of Funding for Tenant-Protection Vouchers for Certain At- Risk Households in Low-Vacancy Areas”. HUD states this retraction is necessary in order to make changes to the program to provide vouchers for maturing mortgage/expiring use agreement properties. The changes were requested by the Senate Appropriations Committee. HUD will soon issue a new PIH Notice in place of Notice 12-19 that will have a 30 day public comment period.
