The U.S. Census Bureau recently released population estimates for metropolitan statistical areas and micropolitan statistical areas, the first population estimates to be released since the 2010 Census. The Census Bureau develops county, metro and micro area population estimates by measuring population change since the most recent Census. Among the 50 fastest-growing metro areas over the last decade, only 24 of them were also among the 50 fastest growing since 2010.
