HUD will host a webcast on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm EST to review the $25 million Notice of Funding Availability for the Assisted Living Conversion Program (ALCP) grant funds. These grants help cover the cost of improvements to existing HUD-assisted elderly apartment complexes to respond to the needs of elderly individuals who are aging in place. Owners who apply for funds no longer need to pursue licensure of their apartment building to be eligible. Applicants can now request funding simply to assist with necessary upgrades to their building to accommodate the provision of community-based licensed care providers. Applications are due on May 15.

In addition, HUD will host another webcast on the same day, Tuesday, March 27 from 2:30 to 3:30 pm EST to review the $15 million Notice of Funding Availability for the Service Coordinators in Multifamily Housing grants. These grants allow owners of HUD-assisted elderly housing and housing for persons with disabilities (such as Section 8, Section 8/202, Section 221(d)3 or Section 236) to receive funding to hire a service coordinator that can help connect residents to needed supportive services from the community, to allow residents to live as independently as possible in their homes. Applications are due on May 14.

Questions may be sent in advance of the webcast or during the webcast, to [email protected]. You can view the webcast at HUD webcast external site during the scheduled time.
