The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities has issued a new paper titled “Converting Funding of Some Public Housing Developments to Section 8 Subsidies Would Help Preserve Needed Units.”

- Proposed Section 8 Conversions Would Help Preserve Developments
- Revisions Needed to Expand Housing Choice and Protect Tenants
- The Proposed Demonstration Program Would Have Modest Costs and Allow Testing of Key Policies
- Other Preservation Measures Are Needed But Would Not Be Sufficient
