Senator Mary Landrieu (D-La.) recently proposed a package of tax incentives designed to create jobs and provide much needed relief to small businesses and communities along the Gulf Coast in the wake of the oil spill. Among other incentives, the proposal would provide a special allocation of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) for the “oil spill recovery zone.” Landrieu was joined by a bipartisan group in proposing the package, including Sens.
