The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund has issued a new informational alert pertaining to the 2009 allocation funding round for the federal new markets tax credit (NMTC) program. The deadline to apply for an allocation is April 8, 2009. Entities not yet certified as Community Development Entities (CDEs) that wish to apply must first submit a CDE certification application by no later than March 3. In addition to the application materials, the CDFI Fund has also made available on its Web site an informational webcast about the NMTC program and application process, and PowerPoint slides that accompany the webcast. The CDFI Fund has recommended that because of the timeframe that participants schedule a call with the Fund before February 20 to discuss their questions or concerns.  read more…
